COACH MUDI'S EMOTIONAL DEPARTURE FROM AWCC

31 Oct by Tim Murphy

The AWCC Committee has some sad news to share today with our wider AWCC family;

After 6 years with us, our brilliant Club Coach, star 1st XI batsman and wicketkeeper, and all round great man, Mudi Ferndando, is leaving us, somewhat abruptly, due to family, employment and visa challenges.

Mudi and his beautiful family are needing to move to Regional Victoria and this means he has had to relinquish his role as our coach.

Incredibly, Mudi told the boys on Saturday of his news before making an incredible 102 not out off 82 balls to help ensure another win for the 1st XI.
His effort and energy through Preseason training and his connection to players across all grades has been a wonderful example of smart, dedicated and diligent coaching.

In his time with us Mudi made 9 × 50s and had 57 dismissals behind the stumps. He represented the ECA and made the ECA Team of Year on multiple occasions. He was one of the most brilliant wicket-keepers, and dashing top order batsman the club has ever had.

He was an avid recruiter and ambassador for our club and his constant presence and contribution will be incredibly missed.

With that being said, we hope to see Mudi around the club as often as possible and who knows…..we might be able to get a few games this season out of him yet!

So, for now, our Senior Skippers and players need to stick together, support each other and as a club we will work through this situation as best, and as quickly as we can.

If anyone has any ideas regarding potential Coach, Training Coordinator, or Player replacements at this stage of the season, please do not hesitate to contact Tim at timmurphy1181@gmail.com or phone 0402 038 514
