SALKOWSKI ANSWERS CALL FOR 2025/26!
11 Apr by Tim Murphy
AWCC Life member Ron Salkowski has signed on as Senior Training Coordinator for the 2025/26 season.
Ronny will attend Senior training each Thursday night to ensure our training structure, session plans and individual coaching and development opportunities are best practice.
Ronny, a former AWCC 1st XI superstar, multiple time premiership player and current top performer for Mornington CC vets, is a lover of the game, and a passionate AWCC man.
‘I can’t wait to get down there and get involved. I loved being around when I came to watch the T20s and the Finals this summer so the chance to give back, meet a heap of great new fellas, and support Chris Barr and the club leaders is something I’m really excited about’.
The AWCC Committee is still keen on obtaining the volunteer services of others interested in helping out.
‘The more the merrier’ Salkowski said. ‘If we can have some specialist coaching from other former players, and additional help with training coordination during the week, we will be setting our players up for great success’.
AWCC President Tim Murphy – ‘This is a brilliant outcome for our club. Ronny is one of our clubs most integral, capable and energetic forces over the last 30+ years. To welcome him back in this capacity is a positive and critical step for AWCC. The young players making their way in Senior cricket will be inspired through their connection with Ron, and there is no doubt a lot of famous older faces will love to get down to Ashy on a Thursday night to also be part of it all due to his involvement’.
The Committee looks forward to hearing from anyone else keen to learn more about any other open roles on or off the field at AWCC for season 2025/26.
