THE GREAT AWCC CRICKET BALL AMNESTY!!!!!
29 Jul by Tim Murphy
Senior Preseason training kicks off in 2 weeks time (12th August)
So its the perfect time to dust off the cricket kit bag, open it up, pick up the stick, do some light shadow batting, then take out the socks and jocks from the last game of 2024/25 and start dreaming of what this coming summer could bring!
Whilst doing all of that, why not have a fumble around the bottom of your kit bag……Grab the handful of cricket balls you quietly threw in there at training before putting the pads on, after a match day warm-up or after a long day in the sun over the last couple of decades, and throw them in a plastic bag.
Then on Tuesday 12th August, and any subsequent session thereafter, simply bring in any cricket balls that are still worthy of being included in a Training bag or a Match-day warm up bag (across Seniors and/or Juniors), hand them over to Tim Murphy, and you will receive a AWCC CANTEEN/BAR VOUCHER to enjoy this season!
Whilst we have plenty of new pills to use this summer, we also want to take this opportunity to collect the hundreds of others that mysteriously disappear and yet are perfect for training and warm-ups. We want every single team at AWCC to have a great supply of cricket balls as we head into this season. And when you see the Senior Player Handbook in coming days, you will know exactly why!
So, play your part in the great AWCC Cricket Ball Amnesty and be rewarded in more ways than one!
